While so much attention is focused on the Republican primary this week, the Democratic candidates are also waging quite a contest. Currently, Clinton has 1231 delegates compared to Sanders 576, but those numbers  belie how close this race has become. As a practical matter, both candidates are  concerned about acquiring delegates, and there are 697 at stake on Tuesday.   But momentum matters, and winning is the best way to get it.

Desperate Times in the GOP

This week, the GOP establishment finally woke up from its stupor and realized that their party is being hijacked by an escalator going down into to a political rabbit hole located squarely under Trump Tower.

Trump, “The Divider”

To many Americans, the rise of Donald Trump is unfathomable:  he is a narcissistic buffoon; a conman who is dividing the country with his bigotry and hate, and whose petulance and Trumperratic temperament is that of a third grader in the school yard.  He mocks people and institutions, and he is dangerous to the future of the Republican Party, our democratic values, and our country.

To many other Americans, Donald Trump is their savior, their voice.  Angry at the dysfunction in Washington DC, Trump voters have found their perfect foil:  the bigger than life, take no prisoners, arrogant businessman who eschews political correctness, as he extends his middle finger to the Washington establishment.   They have done the calculus and have concluded that our current political system is rigged , and Trump  will “Make America Great Again”.   click here for more
